The following issues were raised in this committee on the first day of the conference (Sunday, 27 December 2015):

-The issue of “proximity” among various schools of thought should become a university course.

-The practical methods of “living peacefully” should be taught at universities so that when students learn the essential information about the religion, they also acquire the techniques of how to practically live peacefully.

-Certain books and journals should be published on the subject of proximity.

-We should establish a university offering MA and PhD courses on the subject of proximity. There is a univerity in Qom, Iran, where various religions are taught, so it is possible to teach various Islamic denominations.

-There are many orientalists, but why Muslims do not have many occidentalists? More studies on west could help improve the objectives of ‘proximity among Islamic denominations’.

-We should have strategic plans employing modern technologies such as films, multimedia, etc. promoting the Islamic ideas in the world.

-All of us have seen how effective the social media and Internet have been on the minds and inclinations of the youth; we should use social media to collectively tackle the problems of Islamic world through the cyber space. We also may raise this issue in the OIC.

-Last year, we discudded almost the same issues, but there was no follow ups. It is suggested that we officially establish a follow up committee before leaving this conference.
